ABOUT ABOUT

Brew At The Zoo June 9th!

Zoo New York is thrilled to announce that Brew at the Zoo will be happening 4 times this year, and it has completely changed!! Brew will now only cost a $10 dollar donation to enter and drink tickets will be just $5 dollars each. We've booked some amazing bands and we are beyond excited to announce our great friends who will be providing drinks and food for you fantastic people.

You Bred Raptors?

You Bred Raptors? is a three-piece band from New York City comprised of Peat Rains, Tara Hanish, and Kc Solaris. They are an instrumental, experimental post-rock ensemble made up of 8-string bass, cello, drums, and two glockenspiels.

Recently, the band has performed with Yoko Ono at her One Woman Show at the Museum of Modern Art, played close to 60 cities since 2015, performed and spoken at an official TED Talk, commissioned to be the house band for ADULT SWIM at Comic Con and provided soundtrack/scoring for TROMA Pictures. They have played alongside Spoon, Stu Hamm, Flux Capacitor, I Fight Dragons, The Protomen, Bear McCreary (composer for the Walking Dead), and Steve Jones (Sex Pistols), and were featured on Good Day New York, WNYC Radio, in The Economist, The Atlantic Magazine, Strings Magazine, and Bass Guitar Magazine. The band has residencies across the boroughs including being a house band at the off-Broadway show "Sleep No More".

The Old Main

Hailing from the foothills of the Adirondack mountains in Utica, The Old Main has drawn favorable comparisons to bands such as The Avett Brothers, The Band, and Dawes while retaining a sound and style uniquely their own. They've been called Folk/Rock, Adirondack Folk, foot-stomping Folk, alt-Americana, and all sorts of other things. But regardless of the adjective and/or categorization used, they've developed a voice all their own through their high-energy live performances and the raw acoustic sound created through their use of acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo, upright bass, drums, and ringing vocal harmonies.
